Former Punjab CM Parkash Singh Badal Passes Away.

On Tuesday, Parkash Singh Badal, who had served as the chief minister of Punjab five times and was also the patriarch of the Shiromani Akali Dal, passed away at a private hospital in Mohali at the age of 95. He had been admitted to the hospital’s intensive care unit on Sunday after experiencing difficulty breathing.

Badal had previously been hospitalized in June of last year for gastritis and bronchial asthma, and in February of the same year, he had undergone cardiac and pulmonary check-ups during a post-Covid health check-up at the same hospital.

The 95-year-old Badal was admitted to Fortis Hospital in Mohali a week ago after he complained of uneasiness while breathing.

In a medical bulletin issued on Sunday evening, the private hospital said, “Parkash Singh Badal continues to be under close observation in the medical ICU (Intensive Care Unit).”
